Augustana sophomore Casey Schilling was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week the league office announced on Monday.
Schilling, a native of Ellsworth, Minn., started off the season strong averaging 18 points, 11 rebounds, four blocks and three steals over the weekend. Schilling finished the weekend shooting 52 percent (12 of 23) from the field and 62 percent (11 of 17) from the free throw line.
Schilling had a monster game against Central Missouri on Sunday putting up career-highs in points (20), rebounds (13) and steals (5). Schilling recorded his second career double-double against the Mules and nearly had one on Saturday against Missouri Western when scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds while swatting a career-high five blocks against the Griffons.
Schilling is the first player to earn the weekly honor from the NSIC this season and the fourth different player from Augustana to earn the award since the Vikings joined the league in 2008.
Augustana returns to action on November 20th, hosting Presentation College at 6:00pm at the Elmen Center.
