Results from Minnesota State Track and Field meet results

Friday & Saturday results from the 2012 Minnesota State Track and Field meet at Hamline University in St. Paul.

Class AA Girls

Tara Svalland of Worthington finished 11th in the high jump, clearing 5’2”

Sarah Buysse of Marshall ran a 59.02 in the prelims of the 400 meter dash and qualified for Saturday’s finals. In the finals, Buysee finished 9th in a time of 59.50

Sarah Anderson of Marshall finished in 10th with a jump of 35 feet-5 inches

Marshall’s 4x800 meter relay team finished in 14th in a time of 9:50.54

Class A Girls:

Adrian’s 4x800 meter relay team of Nicole Slater, Megan Sauer, Austyn Thier and Jordin Kopplow finished in 2nd place at state with a time of 9:39.97

Sylvia Zanini of Fulda is the state champion in the Girls Discus, winning with a throw of 141’-01”. She also ran a 16.85 in the prelims of the 100 meter hurdles and did not qualify for Saturday’s finals. In the Shot Put on Saturday, Zanini finished in 6th place with a throw of 40 feet-7.75 inches

In the 4x200 meter relay prelims on Friday, Luverne ran a time of 1:52.36 and Tracy-Milroy-Balaton ran a time of 1:51.99. Both teams did not qualify for Saturday’s finals.

MCC 4x100 meter relay team ran a time of 51.59 in the prelims on Friday and did not qualify for the finals on Saturday.

Siera Wilgenburg of Hills-Beaver Creek had a time of 1:01.51 in the prelims of the 400 meter dash and did not qualify for Saturday’s finals.

Hannah Van Dyke of Southwest Christian had a time of 48.82 in the prelims of the 300 meter hurdles and did not qualify for Saturday’s finals.

Austyn Thier of Adrian qualified for Saturday’s finals in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:21.78 in Friday’s prelims. In the finals on Saturday, Thier finished in 3rd place in a time of 2:21.41

Hills-Beaver Creek’s 4x400 meter relay team ran a time of 4:17.98 and did not qualify for Saturday’s finals.

Makayla Hohn of Luverne finished in 12th place in the 3200 meter run with a time of 12:05.44

Chloe Arfsten of Westbrook-Walnut Grove finished in 14th place, clearing 8 feet-3 inches

Hannah Steele of Windom finished 4th in the discus on Friday with a throw of 132’-10”. She finished in 4th in the Shot Put with a throw of 41 feet-2 inches

Class AA Boys

Beau Bofferding of Marshall will be running in the finals in both the 100 meter dash and 400 meter dash on Saturday, Bofferding ran the prelims in the 100 meter dash on Friday in a time of 10.94 and in the 400 meter dash in a time of 48.62. In the finals on Saturday, Bofferding was 6th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.00 and was 3rd in the 400 meter dash in a time of 48.49

Class A Boys

Aaron Kozlowski of Pipestone had a time of 15.97 in the 110 hurdles prelims on Friday and did not qualify for Saturday’s finals.

Jack Thony of Murray County Central qualified for the finals in the 100 meter dash with a run of 11.16 in the prelims on Friday. Thony just missed a spot in the finals in the 200 meter dash, running a time of 22.84 in the prelims on Friday and missing a spot in the finals by one hundredth of a second. In the finals on Saturday, Thony finished 4th in a time of 11.27. Thony was also in action in the Long Jump on Saturday and finished 16th with a jump of 19 feet-6.5 inches

Luverne’s 4x100 and 4x200 meter relay teams did not qualify for the finals on Saturday. In the prelims on Friday, the 4x100 team had a time of 45.82 and the 4x200 meter relay team had a time of 1:34.35.

Jason Vongsavanh of Jackson County Central qualified for the finals of the 400 meter dash on Saturday with a time of 51.38 on Friday. Jose Gonzales of Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin did not qualify for the finals, running a time of 52.54. In the finals on Saturday, Vongsavanh finished in 8th place in a time of 50.86

Austin LaFollette of Southwest Christian will be running in the finals of the 300 hurdles on Saturday, finishing with a time of 41.06 on Friday. In the finals, LaFollette finished in 9th place in a time of 41.88

Jeff DeCock of Westbrook-Walnut Grove/Red Rock Central finished in 12th place in the Triple Jump with a leap of 41’-05”, finished in 16th place in the High Jump clearing 6 feet-0 inches and placed 14th in the Long Jump with a leap of 19 feet-11.25 inches

Tanner Nepp of Murray County Central finished in 6th place in the Shot Put with a throw of 49’-07” and 3rd in the Discus with a throw of 147 feet-3 inches

Alex Weis of Luverne finished in 10th place with a throw of 46 feet-2.25 inches.

Cody Rofshus of Luverne finished in 4th place in the Discus on Saturday with a throw of 146 feet-6 inches.
