Last minute filings for Worthington council positionsPublished by on
WORTHINGTON – Some last minute filers straggled in before the deadline Tuesday in Worthington for the upcoming city council positions that will open up at the end of the year. The terms ending this year include that of the mayor, and one seat each for Ward 1 and Ward 2.
Filings on Tuesday included that of Chris Dybevick for the position of mayor. Incumbent Alan Oberloh has filed for the position once more, as has Mike Kuhle, who currently holds a seat in Ward 2.
There were three filings in Ward 2 on Tuesday. Michael Harmon filed, as did Chad Cummings and Darlene Vortherms, bringing the total filings for that particular position to five. Earlier in the filing period, Jeanene Townswick and Rodolfo “Marty” Martinez tossed their hats in the ring.
In Ward 1, incumbent Ronald Wood refiled, and Larry Janssen also added his name to the ballot for the November general election.
Candidates may withdraw from their respective races, if they so choose, until 5 p.m. on Thursday.
