Iowa Marine killed in Afghanistan

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - An Iowa Marine is one of three Marines who were killed Friday in Afghanistan, the U.S. Department of Defense said today.

Lance Cpl. Adam F. Wolff, 25, of Cedar Rapids died while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan, military officials said.

The Department of Defense identified the other fallen Marines as Staff Sgt. David H. Stewart, 34, of Stafford, Va., and Lance Cpl. Brandon J. Garabrant, 19, of Peterborough, N.H.

They were all assigned to 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.

No other details were immediately available.
