MnDOT update

MANKATO - The Minnesota Department of Transportation continues to advise no travel in southwestern Minnesota this evening, due to blizzard conditions with near zero visibility.

Highway 71 from Windom to Sanborn in Cottonwood County has been closed since just before noon due to white-out conditions and will likely remain closed into the night. Travel in Jackson County is also extremely difficult due to reduced visibility.

Officials do not anticipate any additional interstate or highway closures at this time; however, motorists may encounter brief lane and road closures where crashes occur.

Check www.511mn.org for road conditions.
