WORTHINGTON – The arrest of an alleged methamphetamine dealer through the use of a confidential informant led to charges being brought against four more meth users, all of whom were charged with felony drug possession Thursday afternoon in Nobles County District Court.

Tanya Kay Stern, age 40, of Round Lake, Ricky Ybarra, age 33, of Lakefield, Rose Kallemeyn, age 23, of Bigelow, and Brady Bern, age 24, of Worthington, were each charged with fifth-degree controlled substance possession. All but Kallemeyn were also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Worthington man charged with first-degree drug sale


WORTHINGTON – Ethan David Duffy, age 24, of Worthington, made an appearance Thursday morning in Nobles County District Court so bail could be set on a charge of first degree sale of methamphetamine. Judge Gordon Moore set bail at $50,000 with conditions that Duffy not leave the state, abstain from drug and alcohol use, submit to random testing and maintain contact with the courts.

WORTHINGTON - In observance of Veterans Day, all city, county and state government offices will be closed today, including the law enforcement center at Prairie Justice Center. The Nobles County Library will be closed. The Worthington Post Office will be closed and delivery routes will not be running, but outgoing mail will be sent.

WORTHINGTON – With the options of denying a first reading of a change of zoning on Stower Drive or approving a spot zoning request, the Worthington City Council on Monday instead chose a third path of tabling the request and sending it back to the Planning & Zoning Commission for a look at rezoning the entire area.

WORTHINGTON – An order was filed Monday morning in Nobles County District Court continuing the jury trial of Chim LoVan, age 46, of Worthington, who is facing second- and third-degree murder charges in the death of Blue Thyboualoy. LoVan also faces two charges of first-degree manslaughter for allegedly stabbing Thyboualoy, which led to his death.
