Boy killed, three in critical condition after I-90 crash
Published by onWORTHINGTON – A 6-year-old boy died Saturday evening in a car crash on I-90 west of Worthington, and three others are in critical condition, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The report states a 1998 Ford Explorer driven by James Fisher, age 30 of Luverne was westbound when it went out of control and went through the median into the eastbound lanes, where it was struck broadside by a 2012 Nissan Versa. The driver of the Nissan, Kevin Bakker age 44 of Spirit Lake, Iowa, was listed in critical condition as of Sunday morning, as was infant Fisher Bakker and 27-year-old Michelle Holmes, also of Spirit Lake. Six-year-old Jonah Holmes was killed in the crash. James Fisher was treated and released.
The state patrol lists the road conditions as icy at the time of the crash, which was reported at 6:41 p.m. The Worthington Fire Department, Rushmore Fire Department and Adrian Ambulance assisted at the scene.
