Erdman’s County Market
Erdman's County Market is an employee owned store that has been a part of Kasson since 1925 when Emil A. Erdman opened the first Erdman Store. Originally, a small store and locker, Erdman’s has remodeled into its current 36,000 square foot grocery store with sausage and smokehouse kitchens and is the largest beef retailer in Dodge County.

Erdman’s County Market features and supports beef sales through weekly advertising on the front page of the local newspaper as well as on Erdman’s website and Facebook page. Additionally, the store has continued to promote beef through the “Build a Better Burger” event in the summer which features their own ground chuck with all the fixings at the front entry of the store.

St. Joseph’s Meats
St. Joseph Meat Market is a family-owned meat market business that has been in existence since 1948. The meat market currently employs 30 individuals in its retail store and processing facility. Each employee takes great pride in their work and shares a daily commitment to delivering the freshest quality meats and friendly service to their loyal customers. St. Joseph Meat Market makes over 150 different kinds of sausages, and over 60 kinds of brats many of which have received state and national accolades.

Innovative Beef Contest
The Innovative Beef Contest has been a part of the Minnesota Association of Meat Processors convention for over 10 years. The purpose of the contest is to promote the new beef cuts and to encourage creativity and new ideas to suit the changing consumer as well as benefit the retailer.

This year’s Innovative Beef Contest saw creativity in the 20 entries that were submitted for consideration in our ground beef, further processed beef, and steaks or roasts from other than the loin and rib categories.

The Innovative Beef Contest is sponsored by the Minnesota Beef Council, which was established in 1967 to administer the beef check off program on behalf of beef farmers and ranchers in Minnesota. The check off focuses on conducting research, education and promotion programs about beef and beef products.
