The University of Minnesota is working with the Agricultural Fertilizer Research and Education Council (AFREC) to determine the need and opportunities for on‐farm research in Minnesota. President to Sign Farm Bill Friday

The Agricultural Act of 2014 has passed the Senate 68-32! This follows closely on the heels of the farm bill being passed the House by 251-166! Of course, now the report is expected to get to the President's desk for his signature before the bill officially becomes law. Congress and ag organizations alike are calling on the President to sign the bill into law without delay.

Propane Shortages Affect Farmers

(St. Paul, Minn) -- The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) is concerned about the health and safety of the state's farming families and their livestock during this cold spell. The current propane shortage not only jeopardizes farm families' ability to heat their homes, but also to provide adequate care for their livestock. MN Farm Bureau Offers Official Comments to EPA On 2014 RFS Proposal

The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) submitted comments on Monday, January 27th to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to reconsider the agency’s 2014 proposed volume standards. The Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 was passed into law by the United States Congress. MFBF stated that the EPA should follow the law as written.
