Weekly "Bingo Night"
It's "Bingo Night" every Tuesday evening at the Reading Community Center! Doors open at 6 p.m. and games begin at 7 p.m. with a payout of over $900 each week! Play 26 games each night! The Reading Community Center uses profits from Bingo to help keep the doors open for community groups to utilize, such as the Elk Tip Toppers 4-H club, Reading First Responders, Reading Booster Club, and other groups.The Reading community center is a 501c3 organization.
Anyone that is divorced, divorcing, separated, or ending a long term relationship is invited to Divorce Care for Adults and Divorce Care for Kids Sunday evenings from 5:30PM until 7:30PM at the Hope Reformed Church in Spencer. Participants must pre-register Monday through Thursday by calling 712-262-3016 anytime between 9AM and 3:30PM.
Nixle - Public Safety System
Nixle is a community information service via the Worthington Police Department dedicated to helping you stay connected to the information that matters most to you. You can receive alerts for closed roads, weather alerts, safety alerts, missing persons, general notifications, special events, canvassing witnesses for leads and other evidence. Come dance to big band sound music at the Spirit Lake Senior Center from 2 to 5 p.m. every last Sunday of each month (weather permitting). Potluck snacks will be featured at intermission. Everyone is welcome!
Senior Dining Volunteers
Lutheran Social Service Senior Dining is currently looking for volunteers. They are in need of individuals to deliver meals to home bound seniors, or pack up and get them ready for delivery. We have three routes with approximately 15 meals per route. The time commitment would be anywhere from 30-60 minutes depending on the task. We can work with any schedule, whether it is once a week or once a month the help is needed. If you could help in this capacity call Kris at the Center for Active Living at 376-6457.

Mission Outreach a division of Four Square Enterprises is offering free dental implants by a licensed dentist here in Minnesota for qualified applicants that are seeking employment but are lacking the confidence and self esteem needed. Junior Achievement Volunteers Needed
The Business Education Committee is still seeking volunteers to teach Junior Achievement. They are in need of (5) kindergarten volunteers, (4) first grade volunteers, (1) third grade volunteer and (1) fourth grade volunteer. April 6-19 - Worthington Gun Show Raffle
Purchase your tickets for the first ever Worthington Gun Show Raffle! Cost is $20 per tickets with only 300 tickets sold. Prize: Browning A500 12 Gauge Shotgun and Winchester Super X Camel Hunter! The raffle will take place at the 10th Annual Gun Show sponsored by the Agribusiness Committee of the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Worthington Arena! Funds raised from the raffle will help provide scholarships.
April 16-19 - "Lend Me a Tenor" Comedy Acts
Off Off Broadway presents "Lend Me A Tenor," a two-act comedy that features a number of classic slapstick comedy. Don't miss this latest dinner theatre production Thursday April 16th through Sunday April 19th. April 17 - SW Crisis Center's Faces of Hope Fundraiser and Banquet
Save the date for Friday, April 17th at the National Guard Armory in Luverne, as it's the Southwest Crisis Center's Faces of Hope Fundraiser and Banquet. The evening begins with dinner at 5:00 p.m., with an award presentation and program at 6:00 p.m., followed by a dance with DJ Barry Roberts. This year’s event will be honoring individuals from each of the five counties that the Southwest Crisis Center Serves. April 17 - MNWest Night of Musical Entertainment
Minnesota West Community & Technical Worthington Campus invites you to join us for a night of musical entertainment from the Minnesota West Choir, a student art display and showcase, and a star gazing party on Friday, April 17, 2015. The Minnesota West Choir will perform beginning at 7:30 p.m. which will be followed by the student art show and reception with light refreshments at 8:15 p.m. A star gazing party will take place from 9:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. at the softball diamond on the southwest side of campus. Telescopes will be provided to look at the astronomical wonders of the spring sky. If you have a telescope, please bring it. These events are free and open to the public. April 17-19 - Broadway Spectacular
The Al Opland Singers will present songs from a variety of musicals during their annual Spring Festival of Song titled, “Broadway Spectacular,” April 17, 18 and 19 at the Pipestone Performing Arts Center. The Oplands have been rehearsing songs from well-known musicals, such as “Annie,” “A Chorus Line,” “Hello Dolly,” “Les Miserables,” “Wicked,” “The Sound of Music,” in honor of the show’s 50th anniversary. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for students and $35 for families, and are available at the Museum box office Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. or by calling 825-2020 or 877-722-2787.
April 18 - Pork Chop Supper
The Round Lake American Legion is hosting a pork chop supper on Saturday, April 18th with serving from 5 to 7:30 p.m. or until gone. Enjoy grilled butterfly chops, baked potatoes, vegetables, salad and a roll.

April 22 - Worthington Hospital Auxiliary Masquerade Jewelry Sale
The Worthington Hospital Auxiliary Masquerade $5 Jewelry Sale will be on Wednesday, April 22nd from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the hospital lobby. Everything is just $5! Funds go towards benefitting patients and visitors at the Sanford Worthington Medical Center.

The Nobles County Library Spring Book Sale will run Wednesday, April 22nd through Saturday, April 25th. The book sale will be held in the Library conference room. Hours are 8-5 on Wednesday, Thursday 8-8, Friday 8-5 and Saturday 10-1.

April 25 - Healthy Kids Day
It's the 2015 Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, April 25th! All kids and parents are invited to come to the Worthington YMCA for a play date and commit to being active every day! April 25 - Sioux County Oratorio Chorus Concert
Join the Sioux County Oratorio Chorus for its upcoming performance of Mozart’s Requiem Mass in D minor on Saturday, April 25 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton, IA. Tickets for adults are $8 in advance/$10 at the door and $5 for students. April 28 - Weather Spotter Training
Weather spotter training will be offered at 7 p.m. at Minnesota West Community and Technical College, Jackson campus. This training is intended for storm spotters or potential storm spotters, but is open to the public and free of charge. The class will last about two hours and will include a multimedia presentation.
April 28 - WMS Annual Band Instrument Display
The Worthington Middle School will hold the annual 4th grade band instrument display from 2:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28 in the Worthington Middle School Band Room. Adults can sign their child up for an instrument and summer band. Broken Note Instrument Repair will be available to rent an instrument and/or fix an existing instrument. Summer band instructions will take place at Worthington Middle School from June 1 until June 12.
April 29 - CAL "Walk In My Shoes" - A dementia Experience

April 29 - CLA Estate Services Workshop
CLA Estate Services will be hosting a FREE workshop providing valuable information for seniors on securing one's estate and retirement planning. Guests will receive a workbook and gain useful information regarding: the pros and cons of wills and trusts; how to avoid probate; long term health care concerns; tax reduction planning. April 30-May 2 - Rummage and Bake Sale
The Sanborn Christian School will host a rummage and bake sale event on Thursday, April 30th from 3 to 6 p.m. Stop in and shop a huge selection of clothing, housewares, and delicious baked goods! The sale event will also run Friday, May 1st from 9 to 6 p.m. and Saturday, May 2nd from 9 to noon (1/2 price day). The sale will be at the Sanborn Christian School gym at 405 W. 2nd Street in Sanborn.
May 1 - Worthington K-9 Fundraiser
Meet the K-9’s and get photographs with Mack and Thor on Friday, May 1st, 2015 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Elks Lodge, 1105 2nd Avenue. You will also have an opportunity to watch K-9 demonstrations and bid on silent auction items. There will also be a pork chop and baked potato feed for $5.00.
May 5 - Weather Spotter Training

May 9 - Color Run
The Lakefield Immanuel Lutheran School invites you to its Color Run on Saturday, May 9th at Lakefield's North City Park Shelter. The run begins at 10 a.m. and concludes with lunch.

May 29 - Stargazing
Go Stargazing with Mike Lynch! Lynch, a broadcast meteorologist at WCCO Radio will be hosting an astronomy and stargazing class, along with a half hour of orientation of the night sky with maps and constellation diagrams provided. Cost is $10 for individuals, $25 for families. It's happening on Friday, May 29th at 9 to 11 p.m. at the Chatauqua Park Shelter House.
June 12 - UV Splash by the Color Dash
Get colorfied during the 2015 Windsurfing Regatta and Unvarnished Music Festival on Friday, June 12th with the UV Splash by the ColorDash!
