Buysse earns All-Region 13 honors

The NJCAA National Office announced Wednesday the NJCAA All-Region 13 Team.

Derek Buysse, a sophomore, from Minnesota West was named to the 2015 NJCAA Men's Basketball Region 13 Team. The NJCAA Region 13 team is made up of the top ten players in Region 13.

Buysse was also named to the MCAC All-Southern Division team and All-MCAC team. Buysee was also named to the MCAC Academic teams for basketball and baseball last season.

Voss named GPAC Player of the Year

Former Worthington Trojan Jalen Voss has gathered up some serious hardware this season. The former Trojan boys basketball standout, now a senior at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell (SD), was recently named the Great Plains Athletic Conference Player of the Year. In his senior season Voss averaged 21 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. He was named the GPAC Player of the Week 3 times during his senior season. Voss was named to the All-GPAC First Team this season and has been a First Team selection the last 3 seasons.

Alwal earns All-SEC Honors in her senior season

The SEC has released their postseason award in Women’s Basketball and Mississippi State senior and former Worthington Trojan Girls Basketball standout Martha Alwal was named an All-SEC 2nd team selection and was chosen for the All-SEC defensive team.

Big South All-Conference Wrestling Team

The Big South Conference has released their All-Conference Wrestling Squad for the 2014-2015 season.

Lady Jay Fan Bus Information

Fans and supporters of the Minnesota West Lady Jay Basketball team are trying to put together a fan bus to the NJCAA National Tournament March 12th through the 14th out in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

The Lady Jays qualified for the National Tournament with a thrilling win over Rochester on Sunday. Minnesota West will play 3 games, once per day.

Worthington Trojan Wrestling Team impressive despite two losses at MN State Wrestling Tournament

Despite dropping both of their matches at the Minnesota State Wrestling Tournament, Worthington Trojan Head Wrestling Coach Mark Prunty was extremely proud of the way his team battled on Thursday.

Worthington opened up the State Tournament with a 39-21 loss to #1 ranked SImley, but Prunty was pleased with the way his team wrestled.
