In case you missed this week's Talk of the Town, Justine chatted with Nobles County Jail Administrator Monette Berkevich and Programmer Ryan Como about the programs available to inmates at the jail, the need for volunteers and some of the difficulties jail staff faces in helping inmates succeed.
WORTHINGTON – After a lot of years dressed in blue Worthington Police Captain Chris Dybevick will soon be switching to brown. The Nobles County Commissioners today approved a request from Nobles County Sheriff Kent Wilkening to replace the recently retired Chris Heinrichs with Dybevick, hiring him away from the police department after 27 years with WPD and over to the sheriff’s office in the position of chief deputy.
The following roads are closed at this time
Iowa Highway 9 between US 75 and County Road K60 (near Rock Rapids). The road is closed because of flooding
US Highway 18 from South Dakota State Line to Iowa County Road K42 near Rock Valley, the road is blocked due to flooding
Iowa Highway 10 at South Dakota Border (near Hawarden). The road is blocked because of flooding.
According to a press release from the Rock County Sheriff's Department, at approximately 8:00 am, on Tuesday, December 31, 2013, The Rock County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Rock County Ambulance, Luverne Fire Department and the Minnesota State Patrol, were contacted about a rollover crash on 110th Ave, ½ mile south of County Road 8.
The Minnesota Farm Bureau (MFB) salutes 4-H during National 4-H Week, October 6-12. This week is a great reminder of the many reasons why Farm Bureau maintains such strong support for the 4-H program.
